Designed to accommodate all dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, halal, and more, every traveler can enjoy the authentic cuisine and cultural experiences that Kyoto has to offer.

Overview

Many people say that Kyoto is the best city for tourists in Japan. This tour is designed for our visitors who have special dietary requirements such as Muslims, vegans or those with allergies. A local guide will show you the popular spots in the Gion and Higashiyama areas of Kyoto while ensuring that your meals and snacks are suitable for your needs.

② Yasaka Shrine (9:25 - 9:45)

Located across the Shijo Bridge, Yasaka Shrine awaits your visit. Yasaka Shrine is famous for the Gion Festival, one of the three biggest festivals in Japan, which involves hundreds of people carrying floats and dates back over a thousand years. The number of worshipers over New Year's period tops more than 1 million every year, making it one of the most popular shrines in the country. The adjacent Maruyama Park is one of the most famous places in Japan to enjoy cherry blossoms, making the shrine especially beautiful during spring.

③ Gion (9:55 - 10:30)

Next we will explore the Gion neighborhood, extending west of Yasaka Shrine to the north and south. A cherry-blossom lined path where nice cafes and tea houses line the street, with quintessentially Kyoto views yours for the taking in. You may even meet a Maiko (roughly equivalent to young, apprenticing Geisha) if you are lucky.

③ Kenniji Temple

Constructed in 1202, the Kenniji Temple is the oldest zen temple in Kyoto. It was opened by Eisai, the Buddhist monk who introduced zen Buddhism to Japan after returning from study trips to China. The vast temple is made up of many towers and beautiful gardens, especially famous is the pebbled “zen garden” where you can sit and contemplate freely.

Nishiki Market.jpg

④ Nishiki Market and Lunch (11:45 - 13:15)

The Nishiki market is a popular shopping area for Kyoto locals, and is filled with seasonal fish and fruits, as well as traditional craft items unique to Kyoto. The market is five blocks long so makes a good place to enjoy both shopping and eating while strolling. we will have lunch time around Nishiki market. If you have other dietary requirements, or if you prefer to eat something else, please inform us in advance and we will arrange an alternative lunch spot.

Almost everyone has seen pictures of the thousands of red torii gates leading from the base of this Shinto shrine all the way to the top of Mount Inari. Fushimi Inari is the most important of several thousands of shrines dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. People have historically gathered there to pray for bountiful harvests and prosperity for their families.
As well as checking out the grounds of the main shrine, you can ascend the mountain through the torii gates, keeping an eye out for smaller shrines and statues along the way.

Kyoto Tour

We traveled from our place in Osaka to Kyoto together with our tour guide Ms. Michiko. Visited Nishiki Market and had lunch there, watched the show at GEAR Theater and the kids enjoyed the Ninja experience at TOEI Kyoto Studio Park. Michiko was very pleasant and helpful!

A Taste of Kyoto

We decided to go on one-day Muslim guided tours in all three cities (Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo) as it is our first time visiting in Japan, and we wanted to get a feel before venturing out for ourselves.

Our guide was Mamoru-san. He was very generous with his knowledge on the places we visited. From the colourful variety of goods of Nishiki market, to the blossoming culture on Gion Street and the breathtaking view on mountain top Kiyomizudera temple, our visit wouldn't have been as exciting and as efficient without the Mamoru-san's guide.

We also had the chance to eat Halal certified Ramen at Naritaya Ramen shop. The miso-ramen was personally my favorite ramen in our whole 2 weeks stay in Japan.

Thank you Mamoru-san and Omakase!

As this was our first time in Kyoto, we were having a hard time finding a suitable tour for us but Omakase provided us with the best value tour for large groups to Kyoto.

Our large group was greeted at our pick up point by Ms. Toshiko and taken to Kyoto by bus. We were taken to the beautiful Fushimi Inari Shrine and then to the amazing Sanjusangedo Temple. After that we had lunch at the amazing Halal Yakiniku that Omakase recommended. We then proceeded to Nishiki Market for some shopping before ending our tour at the Kinkakuji.

Overall we were very satisfied with the tour that Omakase planned for us and Ms. Toshiko is a great tour guide who explained all the backstories of the places we visit with great passion. We will definitely contact Omakase again if we go to Japan again.
