Before Reservation

Is a 12 years old charged as a child or as an adult?

Our tour prices are based on the Japanese schooling system. Therefore, child fare is applicable to those who are in elementary school as per the Japanese schooling system. Those who are 12 years but are born after April 2nd, are considered as adults as they would be junior high school students in Japan.

Basically English. But some guides speak other languages.

How will I recognize my tour guide?

Either your tour guide or a tour coordinator will be waiting at the tour meeting point 10 minutes before the start time of your tour. They will be holding up a paper with your name.

What If I'm running late for my tour?

Please note that we ask all guests to arrive at the tour meeting point at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of their tour. If you have difficulty finding the meeting point or are delayed along the way, please call the emergency phone number which we will provide in advance for each tour.

How far in advance should I book my tour?

It's hard to say and differs from one tour to another. We would recommend booking as soon as you can.

Can I participate in your tours if I have walking difficulties or require a wheelchair?

Please do get in touch with us before you book. However, please be aware that guests are responsible for propelling their own wheelchairs - guides will be unable to do this.

I am traveling with a small child - can I bring a stroller with me?

Please get in touch with us before bringing a stroller on your tour. Some sites will not allow you to bring a stroller inside. And while on tours and day trips, we may not have storage space within the vehicle. If you let us know in advance we can help you to arrange a workable alternative.

After Reservation

Do I need to print my confirmation letter?

We strongly encourage you to print your confirmation letter, mostly because it contains meeting point directions, and maps to help you get there. It also contains our emergency contact number. However , so long as you have these details on hand, having your confirmation letter isn't required to join the group, our guide will have your name anyway.

Should I tip my guide?

It's really up to you. If you enjoyed your tour and feel like you received excellent service from your guide, it is customary to leave a tip at the end of the tour. It's not obligatory though and we won't hold it against you if you don't - nor will your guide.

What payment methods do you accept?

① Day Tours
You can pay by credit card. We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover Card and JCB credit cards. The tour fee must be paid at least 14 days prior to the start of the tour. If you make a reservation within two weeks of the tour, you must pay the tour fee by credit card by the date we will specify by email.
If you do not have one of the above credit cards, you can pay by Paypal, or your guide will accept payment in cash on the day of the tour. If you choose to pay by cash, you will need to sign a payment agreement on the day.

② Customized Tours
Payment for customized tours can only be made by credit card, bank transfer, or Paypal. We do not accept cash payment.

What should I bring on my tour?

We ask that all customers bring your passport and your confirmation email. For all tours, we would recommend that you wear comfortable shoes. If you're visiting in summer (Jun - Sep) we recommend that you bring sunscreen, a bottle of water (which you can refill along the way on most tours) and a hat.

It's raining, is my tour still running?

Yes. Our tours run rain or shine. On some very rare occasions, when the weather is particularly bad, some outdoor sites may be closed. On these occasions we will try to contact you in advance, where we have warning.
If you want to cancel your tour because of bad weather or for any other reason, we require a 48 hour notice and you will not be charged. So please do keep a close watch on the weekly weather report for our area during the time of your planned visit.
