Exploring Osaka in a Wheelchair with a local guide.
Here is a private tour where you can enjoy the highlights of Osaka with peace of mind even for wheelchair users.
This tour starts at your hotel accommodation then immediately heads to Osaka Castle. Osaka Castle was the base of Hideyoshi Toyotomi’s unification in 1583, and he is the one who started construction of the castle on the site of the Ishiyama Honganji. The castle fell in 1615 during the great Summer Battle of Osaka, but was reused by the Tokugawa Shogunate until the castle tower burned down in a lightning strike. The current castle tower, rebuilt in 1931, is the third generation. The castle interior is now a historical museum, housing valuable materials and diorama. On the outside, you can enjoy Osaka Castle from various angles and appreciate its magnificent stone walls, architectural features, the vast moat, and many other points of interest around the castle.
After Osaka Castle, we will enjoy a stroll in part of Osaka’s “kitchen," Kuromon Market. The fresh food market has a history of over 100 years, with about 180 stores selling fish, fruit, and more in the same marketplace. There is a big bustle every day as "Osaka’s Kitchen" flaunts its treasure trove of fresh ingredients.
After Kuromon market, move to Dotonbori. Here is the most famous photo spot in Osaka. Afterwards, we have lunch at Dotonbori, your guide take you to the accessible and cozy restaurant at there.
After lunch, you will be taken further downtown to Osaka’s Shinsaibashi shopping street, which runs from Dotonbori. We’ll have time for a bit of shopping here too.
Following Shinsaibashi, we move on to "Kita" (Umeda) area by subway. The last spot of this tour is "Umeda Sky Building." British Times magazine includes this building in their “20 of the world's leading buildings." Interesting architecture flows up the 170m height, all the way up to the "Floating Garden Observatory," where you can appreciate vast views over the city of Osaka and more, all the way to Awaji Island. This observatory, which has both inside and outside viewing areas, is a superlative experience.
